Report: Celtics Call Kings to Ask About Disgruntled Center DeMarcus Cousins

The Celtics are rather thin at the center position, and DeMarcus Cousins and the Sacramento Kings aren't exactly on good terms. Is that grounds for deal?

Well, the Celtics have at least explored the possibility. The C's have called the Kings in order to see what it would take to land the disgruntled, 21-year-old big man, according to the Boston Herald.

A deal is reportedly "highly unlikely," though, as could be a deal between Sacramento and any team.

"The thing is that everyone knows he's a wreck." a league source told the Boston Herald about Cousins. "[The Kings are] not going to get what he's worth."

This rumors comes on the heels of Cousins requesting a trade from the Kings, and head coach Paul Westphal sending him home. Westphal released a statement on the issue, in which he gave his reasoning for sending Cousins home. Cousins' agent, John Greig, subsequently denied that Cousins had demanded a trade.

Cousins, a 6-foot-11 center who was the fifth overall pick in the 2010 draft, averaged 14.1 points and 8.6 rebounds per game during his rookie campaign. This season, the Kentucky product has averaged 13 points and 11.3 rebounds per game through his first four games, all of which he's started.

According to the Herald report, "most teams" have called the Kings in order to gauge what it would take to acquire Cousins.
