Bruins Recall Forward Josh Hennessy From Providence

The Bruins have made the call to Providence to add some depth to their corps of forwards.

The B's announced that they have recalled forward Josh Hennessy from Providence, and Hennessy is expected to join the club in time for Tuesday's morning skate and Boston's showdown with the Rangers on Tuesday night.

The 27-year-old last played in the NHL during the 2009-10 season when he appeared in four games with the Ottawa Senators. He's played in 20 career NHL games scoring one goal during that time.

At the time of the call-up, Hennessy was leading the P-Bruins in goals with 15 and was second on the team in points with 30.

The Rockland, Mass., native has a chance to become the first Massachusetts native to play for the Bruins since the 2007-08 season.
