Jeremy Lin Unlikely to Participate in Dunk Contest With Knicks Teammate Iman Shumpert Out

When Knicks guard Iman Shumpert went down with a knee injury during New York's 104-97 win over Dallas on Sunday, thoughts of his participation in this weekend's dunk competition went out the window.

It was announced on Wednesday that Shumpert will forgo the competition due to the injury, and that Utah Jazz forward Jeremy Evans would replace him.

The notion of Shumpert's exit had many speculating that recent basketball sensation Jeremy Lin would no longer be taking part in the contest, either, and that rumor appears to be true.

Lin was set to assist Shumpert in the contest, as was reported late last week, but with Shumpert sidelined, it appears Lin may also take a seat for the competition.

Luckily for basketball fans, Lin will still be active in NBA All-Star Weekend, as the second-year guard will still participate in the Rising Stars Challenge, pitting first- and second-year players against each other in an exciting, high-scoring game of hoops.
