However, a new report is saying that Linsanity almost landed in Boston.
Twice.
The Celtics were ready to put in a claim to pick up the Harvard alum when he was released by the Golden State Warriors in December, according to the Boston Herald. Unfortunately for the C's, the Houston Rockets beat them to the punch.
Lin's stay in Houston was brief, however, and the Celtics were ready to try and pick up the 23-year-old point guard for a second time. Once again, they couldn't get their man, as the injury-stricken Knicks swooped in and took Lin before the Celts could get to him.
No one saw "Linsanity" coming, as the Knicks newest star went undrafted out of Harvard before landing with Golden State. Now, Lin has averaged over 24 points per game during New York's seven-game winning streak and has guided the Knicks into playoff contention.
Lin isn't leaving New York anytime soon, but it would've been interesting to see if the former Crimson product could've had the same success in green and white as he has had in orange and blue.
