Mauricio Isla‘s growing reputation in Italy has made him a wanted commodity in England and Russia. Isla’s agent told The International Business Times that Liverpool is among the Udinese fullback’s numerous suitors, but he is unaware of any official bids for the talented Chilean.
“I believe that he is being watched by Liverpool and by other clubs from Italy,” Leonardo Rodriguez said. “I can’t be sure that any clubs are getting in contact [with Udinese].”
Isla was linked with Liverpool during the January transfer window, but the Reds did not formalize their interest. The Serie A club reportedly placed a £10 million ($15.5 million) price tag on him at the time, but the latest reports put that value around £8 million ($12.6 million). Rodriguez expects that to change between now and the summer transfer window.
“Near the next market we will be able to inform with more accuracy,” he said.
Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow and Italian club AS Roma are also thought to be eyeing Isla.
The versataile 23-year-old can play anywhere in the midfield or defense. This season has seen him make 27 appearances (in all competitions) for the fourth-place club.
