Fans of the German soccer club were sick and tired their team's futility in front of goal, so they took matters into their own hands during a game against AK '07. They unfurled a giant banner behind the opponents' goal that read: "Wir zeigen euch, wo das tor steht!" or "Don't worry, chaps, we'll show you where the goal is!"
They went a step further by standing behind the goal and carrying around giant, brightly colored arrows, which they pointed in the direction of the AK '07 goal. They moved around, adjusting their positions in real-time relation to events on the field.
Showing the never-say-die spirit of American soccer, Wright ended Magdeburg's 558-minute scoreless run. But the glory ended there. Ak '07 won the game with a goal in the last minute.
It continues a miserable season for Magdeburg. The club is stuck to the floor of the Regionalliga Nord (German fourth division), having scored just 16 goals in 25 games.
