If "perennial All-Star" Antoine Walker didn't have bad luck, he'd have no luck at all.
Walker, 35, who was the source of many memorable quotes as a member of the Celtics, was forced to sell his 2006 NBA championship ring to pay off his creditors in his bankruptcy case, TMZ reports. The ring reportedly sold for $21,500.
Walker won the ring with the 2006 Miami Heat, but had to liquidate his property after racking up more than $12.7 million in debts.
It has been a long, hard fall for Walker, who made three All-Star teams in 12 NBA seasons but once referred to himself as a "perennial" All-Star. He also uttered one of the great lines in sports history when he was asked why, at 6-foot-8 and 224 pounds, he took so many 3-pointers.
"Because there are no 4s," he replied.
Never change, 'Toine. Except for the bankruptcy thing. Hopefully, that changes for the better for you.
Other than that, never change.
Here's hoping Walker can wiggle his way out of his financial woes.
