Boston College Remains Unanimous No. 1, UMass-Lowell Falls From Top 10 After Dismal Hockey East Finish

The Boston College hockey team had quite the week last week.

After being ranked as the unanimous No. 1 team in the country by USCHO.com, the Eagles responded with a couple of big wins at the TD Garden and captured their third straight Hockey East title with a  4-1 win over Maine.

Jerry York's team then got another note of excitement on Sunday night, being selected as the No. 1 overall seed in the upcoming college hockey tournament.

Well, York and the Eagles can smile once more, as BC was unanimously voted the nation's No. 1 team yet again on Monday by all 50 voters in USCHO.com's weekly poll.

The Eagles aren't the only Hockey East school listed in the poll, though. Longtime rival Boston University, a fellow participant in this weekend's NCAA tournament, fell three spots this week to No. 8. Maine remained at No. 11 in the nation, while last week's 10th-ranked UMass-Lowell team dropped to No. 13 in this week's rankings.

Merrimack, who just barely missed a spot in this year's NCAA tournament field of 16, saw itself drop a couple of spots down to No. 17 this week. Harvard rounded out the local school's in the poll, rated at No. 18 in the nation to close out its season.
