The Celtics will finally add another big man to the roster on Thursday.
According to reports from The Boston Globe and Yahoo Sports, Ryan Hollins will be a member of the Boston Celtics on Thursday and should be available to play against the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday.
CSNNE reporter A. Sherrod Blakley reported that Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett favored Hollins during the summer and Danny Ainge was happy to oblige to his players.
"They really liked his game and the way he could play with them," Ainge said. "I think he would fit in well with what we do."
In order to make room for the 7-foot veteran, the Celtics are set to waive Chris Wilcox, who will be out the remainder of the season with a heart problem.
The Celtics have been using Greg Stiemsma and Garnett at the center position with the likes of Wilcox and now Jermaine O'Neal out for the season. Hollins could make a great addition going forward.
Maybe Hollins veteran presence will be the building block to a strong finish to the 2011-12 campaign for the C's.
