Report: Paul Pierce, Ray Allen Drawing Most Trade Interest of Celtics Players

Most of the trade rumors that have involved the Celtics in recent weeks have included Rajon Rondo. However, it's apparently a couple of older veterans who are really piquing the interest of teams across the league.

Paul Pierce and Ray Allen are drawing the most trade interest, according to CSNNE.com's A. Sherrod Blakely.

Blakely cites multiple league sources in his report, and says that since players signed during the offseason can now be traded as of Friday, there are even more options for the C's when it comes to striking a deal.

Pierce is averaging 17.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game this season in 34.6 minutes per contest. The 34-year-old has two years remaining on his contract after this season, and the Lakers, Clippers and Rockets are reportedly among the teams interested in the captain's services.

Allen, meanwhile, is averaging 14.8 points, 3 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 33.9 minutes per contest this season. The 36-year-old could entice teams as a result of his 3-point shooting ability, strong conditioning and $10 million expiring contract.

Blakely reports that the Clippers, who lost Chauncey Billups to injury earlier this season, could be interested in Allen.

Celtics general manager Danny Ainge will be a busy man leading up to the March 15 trade deadline. He's shown a willingness to be bold and get creative in the past, but the situation he faces this season is truly unique.
