The Celtics did not really arrive late to the arena Friday night before putting forth an underwhelming effort in a loss to the Raptors. It just seemed that way.
But they were a bit tardy in arriving at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., for Saturday's game against the New Jersey Nets. Less than an hour and a half before tipoff, the Celtics’ team bus had yet to arrive at the arena, the Boston Globe's Gary Washburn tweeted.
NBA teams differ in the exact time they like to arrive at the arena, but almost all arrive a few hours in advance of the game to shoot around and see athletic trainers. Players usually are in uniform or getting treatment from trainers by about 90 minutes before game time.
Considering the Celtics' sluggishness in Toronto, a late arrival is not going to help the Celtics be sharp early on against the Nets.
