Brett Lawrie plays the game of baseball with more than his fair share of intensity. That intensity will probably earned him a little vacation after what he did Tuesday night.
The Blue Jays third baseman blew a gasket after being called out on strikes by Bill Miller. Lawrie was punched out after a questionable third strike call, a call that followed a strike two call that Lawrie was less than pleased with.
Upon getting the bad news from Miller, Lawrie simply lost it, charging after the veteran umpire and slamming his helmet on the ground. Depending on how you look at it, one could argue that Lawrie threw his helmet at Miller, but that may be a stretch.
Regardless, it’s probably safe to assume that Lawrie will get some sort of suspension out of the ordeal.
Unsurprisingly, Toronto manager John Farrell was also ejected shortly after Lawrie was given the gate.
