The Florida State University's traditional mascots, Osceola and Renegade, have some new competition. In addition to the original duo's tribute to Florida's Native American heritage, the Seminoles will soon bring in the more family-friendly Cimarron.
This new mascot consists of a man dressed in a barely visible gray fur suit, tee shirt and shorts, clownishly large shoes and a horse's head. Simply put, it's a bizarre sight to see.
Even still, FSU is moving forward with the new pony-boy hybrid in an attempt to promote the school's athletics at events where Osceola and Renegade were not appropriate, according to a report from FSUnews.com.
The new Seminoles representative could work out great for FSU, appealing to kids and families eager to come to university events. Or the prospect of genetic mutation leading to humans with horse's heads and horse's with human bodies could terrify them so much they never return. Only time will tell!
