But even with the Thunder's trip to the NBA Finals, head coach Scott Brooks is not ready to commit to Oklahoma City's basketball future just yet.
Brooks, who is in the final year of his contract, turned down a three-year contract extension offer before the playoffs, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.
A 10-year NBA veteran as a player, Brooks, 46, is in his fourth year of head coaching. He started with the Thunder in 2008 and is reportedly seeking a fourth year on the contract extension.
While the two sides couldn't come to an agreement before the playoffs, the team's postseason success may help the negotiation process. If Brooks can coach the Thunder to three more wins, the team may be much more willing to meet his demands.
