Although Facebook has been streamlining its way as the most prominent social media site, perhaps none have caught on as much in the sporting world as Twitter.
Professional athletes love Twitter so much that it has expanded beyond fans following their favorite players, but it is now an integral part of sports journalism as well. People recently saw how it can be misused by ESPN’s Chris Broussard, who tweeted a quote that he said New Orleans Hornets guard Eric Gordon told him, when in reality the quote appears to have been lifted from a press release.
Still, Twitter is just like any other social media platform and as such it should also be used for entertainment purposes. Luckily, there are people out there who know how to crack a good joke or two about professional athletes as well as the media and are well worth following, like LeBron James‘ Ego, or the fake Jay Cutler.
