Reggie Jackson May Want to Think Twice Before Attempting to Be Hall of Fame Authority

Reggie Jackson made waves recently when he declared that several Hall of Famers — including NESN's own Jim Rice — were not worthy of Cooperstown, in his estimation.

Mr. October, however, might not be the most qualified voice to speak on that subject, even though he holds an all-time major league record. Unfortunately for him, it's the dubious mark of most strikeouts by a batter. Jackson whiffed 2,597 times in his career, or nearly 300 more than the next retired player on the list. Jim Thome, admittedly, is within 80, but he's still playing.

Rice, meanwhile, is merely 66th on that same list with 1,423 career strikeouts.
