Report: Celtics Interested in Picking Up Courtney Lee in Possible Sign-and-Trade With Rockets

He's no Ray Allen, but Courtney Lee may bolster the Celtics' shooting corps just fine.

Celtics coach Doc Rivers met with Lee on Saturday night, ESPN reports, and the Celtics are very interested in the free agent guard, who averaged 11.4 points on 40 percent 3-point shooting last season.

Lee, who has played for the Magic, Nets and Rockets, is also being pursued by the Timberwolves, Hawks, Pacers, Mavericks, Suns and Bulls.

The Celtics would need a little help if they wanted to sign Lee, as they don't have the cap space they need to offer him a contract. But the Rockets are reportedly interested in a sign-and-trade for Lee or Marcus Camby, both of whom are free agents who are not interested in returning to Houston but would be valuable pickups for other teams.
