Report: Phillies ‘Eager’ to Move Hunter Pence

Hunter Pence's name just keeps coming up this time of year.

A season after the Phillies acquired the outfielder from the Astros just prior to the trade deadline, Pence's name is once again surfacing in trade rumors. According to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal, the Phillies are continuing to signal to clubs that they are "eager" to deal Pence.

The 29-year-old's average is down to .268 and his on-base percentage sits at .336 a year after he posted solid numbers split between Philly and Houston. Pence hit .324 while getting on base at a .394 clip upon being dealt last season.

Pence reportedly could earn $13 million to $14 million next season in his final year of arbitration, making a move a possibility for Philadelphia.

The Phillies have been a major disappointment this season, currently sitting in last place in the NL East. Still, Pence could be an attractive option for a team in need of outfield help.
