Report: Rick Nash Traded to Rangers for Three Players, First-Round Draft Pick

The Rick Nash sweepstakes appear to be over.

TSN's Darren Dreger reports that the forward is likely headed to New York, as Columbus has apparently agreed to send Nash to the Rangers.

The deal is not yet official, but it sounds like all that's left is to match up contracts and iron out the smaller details.

The Columbus Dispatch's Aaron Portzline also reported via Twitter that Nash has been traded to the Rangers.

The 28-year-old will instantly boost an already strong Rangers team, as New York will benefit from the 2002 first overall pick's dynamic goal-scoring ability. Nash, who scored 18 goals in his rookie season in 2002-03, has scored no fewer than 27 goals in a season since then. He's averaged almost 35 goals per season over the last five years.
