Soccer fan KG tried to buy in with Italian soccer club AS Roma earlier this year, but after the team visited Boston and played at Fenway Park, it was revealed that Garnett's bid was rejected due to an obscure NBA rule.
Because AS Roma's principal investor James Pallotta also happens to own a piece of the Celtics, Garnett is not allowed to also participate in the venture.
"If you enter into a business agreement with the owner of a team that doesn't involve playing service, there are potential problems," a source told the Boston Globe.
Garnett hoped to gain an exception from the league, but it appears that they said no to avoid the chance of an under-the-table deal when mixing businesses. So, The Big Ticket will remain just that, and avoid making the change to "Il Biglietto Grande" after all.
