Report: Shane Doan Visits Canucks Management in Vancouver

A piece of Shane Doan's heart will always be in Phoenix, but there's no guarantee that's where the whole thing will be next season.

According to multiple reports, Doan was in Vancouver visiting with the Canucks on Tuesday.

Doan has spent his entire 16-year NHL career with the Coyotes (formerly Jets) organization, but he's a free agent and could elect to sign elsewhere amidst the unpredictable future of the Phoenix franchise. He's already visited the Flyers and Rangers this offseason, and the Canucks are another team that could make sense for the 35-year-old forward.

Doan is familiar with Canucks assistant general manager Laurence Gilman, who was with the Winnipeg/Phoenix organization prior to joining Vancouver in 2008. The Canucks could also use Doan's veteran presence as they continue to seek the first Stanley Cup in franchise history.

Doan had 22-28-50 totals in 79 games last season while guiding the Coyotes to the Western Conference Final.
