While visiting a baseball camp in August, Bryce Harper
raised some eyebrows with his words of wisdom. As he worked with two kids, the
Nationals outfielder advised them to be as "sexy as you can" during
hitting drills.
Well, there's a method to the 19-year-old's madness. When
asked to explain the statement, Harper said it was his way of encouraging
youngsters to play baseball with a free mind.
"When you're going out and you're swinging, you
don't want to be as tense and play the game so uptight," Harper said in an
on-camera interview. "Just try to be as flawless and you can. Try to be as
loose as you can. If you're loose and flawless, you're sexy."
It all makes sense now.
