Red Sox Have Much to Say in AL East as Boston Opens Series With Baltimore at Camden Yards

With two series left in the season, the Red Sox year is far from done, as the team has a chance to have a serious impact on the American League playoff picture in the season's final six games. The New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles still have a lot left to decide between them, and Boston will play both over the season's final week.

To get things started against the Orioles, the Sox turn to a lineup that's about as good as Boston can field right now, with Scott Podsednik leading off, Dustin Pedroia batting third and Jarrod Saltalamacchia as the DH hitting sixth — Ryan Lavarnway catches and hits seventh.

On the Orioles' end, Chris Davis and Adam Jones make up the heart of Baltimore's lineup, but they're supplemented by two players on opposite ends of the career spectrum. Jim Thome bats fifth as the DH, while rookie Manny Machado takes his at-bats from the seven spot in the order as the third baseman.
