The Saints quarterback broke Johnny Unitas' record for most consecutive games with a touchdown pass. His 40-yard completion against the Chargers to a wide-open Devery Henderson was his 48th consecutive game with a score through the air.
In that span of 48 games, the equivalent of three entire NFL seasons, Brees has thrown 115 touchdowns to 15 different players.
Brees got to accomplish the record with his suspended head coach Sean Payton in attendance. Saints general manager Mickey Loomis and assistant head coach Joe Vitt were also at the game to watch the record breaking throw, but the three men are not allowed to have contact with one another, even though they're sitting in the same booth.
