Dustin Pedroia Returns to Red Sox Lineup Against Yankees Despite Fractured Ring Finger

Dustin Pedroia and the Red Sox don't have anything to play for in the season's remaining two games. However, that's not going to stop Pedroia from proving that he's going to be the leader of his club moving forward.

The pesky second baseman is in the Boston lineup on Tuesday night. That's surprising to say the least, especially considering the fact that he recently suffered a fractured ring finger and was expected to miss the season's final three games starting with Monday night's game which he sat out.

Tuesday night also marks the return of Jacoby Ellsbury to the Red Sox' lineup, giving the Boston starting nine a more respectable look than in the series opener when they had six players who began the season in Pawtucket in the starting lineup.

Jon Lester is looking for his 10th win of the season.
