NHL Announces Cancellation of All Regular Season Games Through Oct. 24

The NHL lockout has claimed its first batch of regular season games.

The league announced Thursday afternoon that it has cancelled regular season games through Oct. 24, or the season's first two weeks.

The league schedule was set to begin on Oct. 11, and there were 82 games scheduled through the first two weeks of the season.

The Bruins will lose six games because of this initial
cancellation.

Oct. 11 at Philadelphia
Oct. 13 at New Jersey
Oct. 16 at Montreal
Oct. 18 versus Montreal
Oct. 20 versus Dallas
Oct. 23 versus Carolina

If for some reason the owners and players can come to terms on a new collective bargaining agreement before more games are killed and the schedule stays as is, the Bruins would open the season on Oct. 25 against Anaheim.
