Chargers Have Black Friday Sale at Team Store, So Fans Naturally Use It to Complain About Norv Turner, Team

NFL teams have become adept at using social media to connect with their fan bases.

But at some point, when seasons are going really, really bad, they have to know that posting anything — from charity events to team merchandise discounts — is going to get some backlash.

That’s what happened this week with the San Diego Chargers, who decided to have a nice Black Friday sale. Fans took the chipper announcement and unleashed their feelings over what has become one of the most putrid seasons in San Diego in recent memory.

The fans quickly piled on, tying the 15 percent creatively to the Chargers’ success rate this season and, of course, calling for head coach Norv Turner to be fired. (See all 609 comments and counting on the Chargers’ Facebook page.)

There’s something to be said for going quietly into the night.
