Blues’ Vladimir Tarasenko’s Eyes Roll, Mouth Bleeds After Huge Hit by Mark Olver (Video)

Many NHL players have been able to skate to the bench and laugh about their “welcome to the NHL” moment, but Blues forward Vladimir Tarasenko wasn’t laughing when he received his.

On Wednesday night, Tarasenko was upended by Colorado’s Mark Olver during the third period of the Avalanche-Blues game. The hit was clean (some argue a tad late), but it sent the 21-year-old Russian to a scary place: La-La Land.

The former first-rounder stayed down after the hit and cameras caught blood coming from his mouth and his eyes rolling into the back of his head. After a few moment of attention from the trainer, he skated off the ice on his own power.
