The Bruins signed Pandolfo to a one-year deal, the club announced Tuesday. That deal won’t become official until Pandolfo clears waivers. He was placed on waivers Tuesday.
The 38-year-old is a native of Winchester, Mass., and has been in the NHL since the 1996-97 season when he broke in with the New Jersey Devils.
Pandolfo most recently played in the NHL last season with the New York Islanders. The Boston University alum scored a goal and added two assists with a minus-14 rating in 62 games with New York.
He’ll make a prorated $600,000 at the NHL level and $350,000 if he plays in Providence.
