Visiting his former team in Cleveland on Wednesday, when a fan ran onto the court while the Heat were taking on the Cavaliers, it was probably easy for LeBron James to assume the worst. Nonetheless, the fan appeared to be a fan of King James (His shirt appeared to read “We miss you.”), security quickly subdued him, and that was that.
In many ways, it wasn’t any different than the plethora of crazy fans who decide to interrupt their favorite sporting event. However, this one has at least one different: It was well-documented on social media.
Deadspin initially identified the Twitter account of a man purporting to be one James Blair, who appears to be the man who ran onto the court of Quicken Loans Arena. Blair identifies himself on his profile as the “Biggest @KingJames fan ever!!!” and, moreover, the account indicates that the crime was very much premeditated — and that Blair has since been released from confinement.
