The Los Angeles Kings won the Stanley Cup last year, and that of course, got them a bunch of attention across the sports world. However, the Kings were already Internet famous, thanks to their often sarcastic and witty Twitter account.
Apparently that has carried over to their team website as well. The Kings had plenty of trade deadline coverage on Wednesday, including a trade tracker, which detailed each trade leading up to the 3 p.m. deadline.
It was, of course, awesome.
The tracker broke down every trade with not only the parties involved, but “instant analysis” was also added. However, the analysis wasn’t exactly the tactical breakdowns you may have seen on trade deadline special on TSN or Sportsnet to name a couple.
For instance, the Ducks broke down the Bruins’ trade to acquire Wade Redden from St. Louis as such.
“Redden will be reunited with his BFF [Zdeno] Chara.”
Here’s what they had to say on the trade that brought Jaromir Jagr to Boston, which included a typo misspelling Jarome Iginla‘s name.
“The Bruins missed out on Igina [sic]; added the 41-year-old who has 14 goals/12 assists (all of which were probably against the Kings). He won’t be their savior but he sure will help.”
Lastly, here’s their take on the minor league trade the Bruins made, sending Maxime Sauve to Chicago for Rob Flick.
“Another AHL trade, well news is news.”
