The Canucks have made a splash in the NHL trade pool.
According to TSN’s Bob McKenzie, Vancouver has traded Kevin Connauton and a second-round draft pick for Stars forward Derek Roy.
The longtime Sabre has potted just four goals in his first season in Dallas but has the capability to be a 30-goal scorer, proven by his 32 snipes during the 2007-08 campaign. Roy, 29, scored 17 goals and added 27 assists in 80 games a season ago.
Connauton was Vancouver’s No. 4 prospect in Future Watch, according to The Hockey News’ Brian Costello, which can be seen in his tweet below.
