Gary Player, 77, to Appear Nude in ESPN the Magazine Body Issue

During his career, nine-time major champion Gary Player became known for wearing all black on Sundays. Well, the next time the 77-year-old makes a major public appearance, he won’t be wearing anything at all.

The Black Knight, as Player became known, will become the oldest person ever to appear in ESPN the Magazine’s annual body issue — beating out 73-year-old swimmer Jeff Farrell from 2010 — in which athletes from different sports pose nude. Player will become the seventh golfer to appear in the issue, and, despite his age, perhaps makes the most sense of any of them.

Player is famous for his workout regimen, which includes 1,000 sit-ups and push-ups a day even at his current age. Player’s workout routine was profiled in a Wall Street Journal article two years ago.
