Cleveland Browns rookie Ausar Walcott was arrested and charged with attempted murder on Tuesday, according to NorthJersey.com.
Walcott, 23, punched a man in the head outside of the Palace Gentlemen’s Club in Passaic, N.J., around 3 a.m. Sunday, according to Passaic police. The victim, 24-year-old Derrick Jones, was taken to a New York City hospital and remained in critical condition Tuesday evening, according to police.
Walcott has been charged with first-degree attempted murder, second-degree aggravated assault and third-degree endangering an injured victim, according to the report. His bail was set at $500,000.
Walcott, a 6-foot-2, 230-pound linebacker from the University of Virginia, signed as an undrafted rookie with the Browns on May 13 and went through offseason workouts with the team.
