Report: Aaron Hernandez Tried to Name Drop Himself to Keep Friend From Being Arrested, Told Trooper ‘It’s OK’

Alexander Bradley, the man suing Aaron Hernandez for allegedly shooting him in the eye, was in Quincy District Court on Tuesday in connection with a January arrest —  a violation Hernandez tried to get him out of.

Bradley, 28, who was clocked doing 105 miles-per-hour when police pulled him over on Jan. 28, was arrested on multiple charges that day, including his second driving under the influence (DUI) charge. Hernandez, who was a passenger in the speeding vehicle, tried to use his own fame and status with the Patriots to get Bradley out of trouble, according to the Boston Herald.

When the State Police trooper approached the SUV Bradley was driving, Hernandez revealed himself in an attempt to squash the situation, saying “Trooper, I’m Aaron Hernandez. It’s OK.”

Hernandez’s attempt proved futile, though, as Bradley was arrested and charged. Tuesday’s proceedings were very brief and Bradley did not speak, according to the Herald. He’s due back in court on Sept. 20.

Bradley is suing Hernandez in connection with a February shooting in Florida, which caused Bradley to lose his left eye. In the case, Bradley claims that Hernandez was the one who shot him.

Hernandez remains behind bars in Bristol County, charged with the murder of Odin Lloyd. He’s due back in court in connection with the murder on July 24.
