University of Georgia freshman walk-on Dusan Langura will likely miss all of the 2013-14 season because of the injury he endured when a bomb went off during his required military duty in his native Switzerland, according to The Telegraph.
“It really is a unique story,” Bulldogs head coach Mark Fox said. “He was injured in the explosion, and one of the injuries was a torn ACL. We had committed to have him come. He can really shoot the ball. He was gonna be on our team. He had to serve his military commitment, and this happened during it.”
The 6-foot-4 guard last played at Furtah Prep in Georgia, where he holds the record for most 3-pointers in a season with 92. Langura will still have a spot on the Bulldogs roster and will return to the court once he’s medically cleared.
“We’re still gonna honor our commitment to him, and once he gets healthy he’ll be out there with us. But he probably won’t be cleared to practice until January or February.”
