According to WKBT in Wisconsin, the sixth-grader from Holmen, Wisc., is on a mission “to set a record for the most consecutive days wearing a Packers jersey.” The current record is believed to have been set in 2008 when a boy in Connecticut wore a Brett Favre jersey for 1,581 straight days (more than four years).
If you had any doubts that David has worn this jersey for almost three years, just look at the worn “Rodgers” lettering on the back and “12” on his sleeves, both of which are difficult to make out if you’re not close to it.
Perhaps the most interesting part of this story is that his parents and siblings are all die-hard fans of the Minnesota Vikings, who are one of the Packers’ main rivals. “Being a Viking family we tried to convert him, but once we knew he wasn’t going to convert we said OK,” his dad told WKBT.
