Leafs’ Phil Kessel Scores Goal With Great Shot From Difficult Angle Against Oilers (Video)

Phil Kessel has one of the most accurate wrist shots in the NHL, and he showed it off during the Toronto Maple Leafs game against the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night.

During the second period, the former All-Star winger unleashed a shot from an incredibly difficult angle at the edge of the trapezoid that found the top portion of the net before Oilers goaltender Richard Bachman could slide over and make a save.

It was Kessel’s second goal of the night (seventh in the last seven games), and he also made a beautiful pass to linemate James Van Riemsdyk earlier in the game that gave Toronto a 2-0 lead. The 26-year-old now has 18 points this season, which puts him two behind Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby for the league lead.
