After playing one game in London in each of the last six seasons, the NFL expanded to two games across the pond in 2013. And, well, they’re pushing the limits once again.
The NFL agreed at the fall owner’s meetings on Tuesday to play three games in London next season, according to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Wembley Stadium will host all three of the games, as it has been the home of the seven previous NFL games in the city.
The three games will feature three different home teams, including the Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars and Oakland Raiders. That will be the first time the Falcons and Raiders play in the international series. The Jaguars, meanwhile, are scheduled to play the 49ers in London on Oct. 27 this season and were already slated to play one home game at Wembley Stadium in each of the next three seasons as well.
The Minnesota Vikings beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 34-27 in Week 4 during the NFL’s first game overseas this season.
