Wil Myers was the most popular man in Fenway Park on Friday afternoon after misplaying David Ortiz‘s fly ball and sparking a five-run inning for the Red Sox.
Throughout the game, the young outfielder was the target of relentless chants and some very loud cheering after his blunder, but he’s shown that he can take all of the heat in stride. According to For the Win, the 22-year-old signed autographs for the Fenway Faithful after Game 1, and he was back at it again before the start of Saturday’s game.
While the “My-ers” chants won’t be fading out any time in the near future, the Rays outfielder can feel good about not dropping the ball on his reaction to the costly gaffe — unlike the one he actually dropped.
