Jared Sullinger Suffers Bone Bruise in Right Knee, Listed as Day-to-Day After MRI

The worst fears about Jared Sullinger‘s knee were not realized, but the Celtics forward will still have to be watched for a while.

Sullinger underwent an MRI on Tuesday after getting hit in the knee in a collision under the basket during Monday’s 120-105 win over the Orlando Magic. The scan revealed a bone bruise, the team announced, and Sullinger is considered day to day.

Sullinger, 21, is off to a strong start in his second NBA season. He leads the Celtics’ bench in scoring at 11.3 points per game and has been one of the team’s strongest rebounders. The Ohio State product is getting to the foul line at twice the rate he did as a rookie, while improving his free throw shooting by 10 percentage points.
