If Ron Burgundy gets a chance on SportsCenter, the president of the United States is thinking, then he should, too. Unless, of course, both get usurped by — hold on, now — actual sports news.
Will Ferrell’s much-vaunted Thursday appearance on the show as Anchorman character Ron Burgundy has been shelved due to impending news about the sexual assault case against Florida State’s Jameis Winston. ESPN, wanting a real sports professional to handle the story (and, of course, the hours of breathless coverage running up to the story), has cleared the mustache and burgundy blazer from behind the desk for another day.

But Farrell’s appearance, and that of the other celebrities to take the desk as ESPN looks to mix things up, has caught the attention of one Barack Obama. The president met Disney CEO Bob Iger during a recent tour of DreamWorks Animation, and he dropped a pretty big hint about wanting his own invite.
“I know what I want to do when I retire … host ESPN SportsCenter’s Top 10 list,” Obama said.
Obama also said his ears inspired Shrek.
