Kobe Bryant Expected to Miss Six Weeks After Suffering Fractured Tibia

Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant just can’t catch a break — at least not in the sense of having something go right injury-wise.

The Lakers announced Thursday afternoon that Bryant has suffered a fracture of the lateral tibial plateau in his left knee. The injury will keep Bryant out for six weeks. The 35-year-old suffered the injury Tuesday against the Memphis Grizzlies on his way to scoring 21 points in 33 minutes.

The setback comes less than two weeks after Bryant returned from a torn Achilles. Bryant returned to the Los Angeles lineup on Dec. 8 against Sacramento. In the six games he played after returning, the future Hall of Famer averaged 13.8 points and 6.3 assists per game while averaging about 30 minutes per night.
