After an injury-plagued December, the Bruins will get Dougie Hamilton and Carl Soderberg back for game action, the team announced Wednesday. Hamilton was given the “full go” by the team’s medical staff, and head coach Claude Julien said the defenseman is “certainly a possibility” for Thursday’s matchup against the Nashville Predators. Hamilton has not played since Dec. 8 because of a lower-body injury.
Julien also said Soderberg has been cleared and “should be” in the lineup Thursday. The forward has missed two games with concussion symptoms, but he said Wednesday that he didn’t have a concussion, per Joe Haggarty of Comcast Sportsnet New England.
The prognosis for Loui Eriksson isn’t as positive, though. The forward is “still a ways away” from returning as a non-contact participant in B’s practice, according to Julien.
Since Soderberg is back, the Bruins assigned forward Nick Johnson to Providence. Johnson has skated in nine games with Boston this season, making his debut Dec. 10 against the Flames in Calgary.
