David Stern’s retirement tour might not be quite as extravagant as Mariano Rivera’s, but the outgoing NBA commissioner did make an appearance on late-night television Thursday.
Stern, who will retire Feb. 1, was a guest on The Late Show with David Letterman, where he recapped the “Top 10 Things I’ve Learned in My 30 Years As Commissioner of the NBA.” It’s a pretty funny list, with entries ranging from “no NBA star has ever made a bad motion picture” (looking at you, Shaquille O’Neal) to “moisten needle before inserting.”
As he’s shown before in his trollerific draft-night performances, the commish certainly knows how to play to the crowd.
