Shaquille O’Neal Takes Devils’ Zamboni for Spin, With Team’s Mascot Also On Board (Video)

Well, Shaquille O’Neal went down to the local arena and asked to see the manager man. He came from his office, said: “Shaq, can I help you?” He looked at him and said: “Yes, you can.”

One could say that Shaq wanted to drive the Zamboni.

OK, so that’s not quite how it went, but regardless, the NBA legend found himself atop the New Jersey Devils’ ice resurfacing machine Saturday when he was the guest of the NHL club. As part of his visit, 7-foot-1 O’Neal climbed aboard the Zamboni and took her for a spin.

Apparently the folks in the New Jersey area have forgiven Shaq. The future Hall of Famer dominated New Jersey in the 2002 NBA Finals, averaging 36.3 points and 12.8 rebounds per game as O’Neal’s Los Angeles Lakers swept the Nets.
