While some Major League Baseball players bask in the glory of monster contracts, other players bust their behinds in hopes of someday landing similar deals.

NESN.com looked Thursday at the most overpaid players at each position for 2014. The group was headlined by Carl Crawford, Ryan Howard and Matt Kemp — all of whom haven’t lived up to their large paychecks for various reasons.

Why should the rich guys hog all the attention, though? For every terrible contract in MLB, there’s a team-friendly deal in which a player is outperforming his price tag. With that in mind, NESN.com decided to also look at the most underpaid players at each position for 2014.

To qualify for the following MLB All-Underpaid Team, players must either be in their arbitration years or in the midst of a new deal they negotiated with their respective clubs.

Bryce Harper, Yasiel Puig and some others on the following list might someday become rich(er) men. For now, however, they are playing under contracts that could be considered bargains given their performance level.
