Ravens Receiver Steve Smith Pulled Over By Cops During Radio Interview

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith had to put a radio interview on hold Thursday while he dealt with law enforcement.

Smith was driving while chatting with hosts of “The Dan Le Batard Show” on ESPN Radio when police pulled him over.

“Oh, see you guys got me in trouble,” Smith said in the middle of answering a question, via Larry Brown Sports. “I’m getting pulled over by the police.”

After mentioning that he wasn’t speeding, Smith put the hosts on hold while he talked with the police. Smith returned to the phone after a short interlude, noting the police cleared him when they realized he didn’t have any priors.

“Hey, when you don’t have any warrants or prior arrests, it goes a long way with being a good citizen,” Smith said.

Smith originally said he might have pulled over because he was talking on the phone, but he later hinted at the possibility of racial profiling.

“Hey, you know, a brother driving a nice car,” Smith said. “Sometimes they’ve got to make sure the registration all matches up.”
