Carolina Panthers superfan Gavin Simone experienced the surprise of a lifetime Thursday when newly signed Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith visited him on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
The 7-year-old football enthusiast’s devastation over Smith’s release from the Panthers went viral in a YouTube video that featured lots of tears. After seeing the video, Smith used Twitter to contact Simone’s family and arrange a special way for him to meet his young devoted fan.
Simone turned from hysterically upset to overjoyed when Smith greeted him on the talk show. The 34-year-old Raven even brought Simone a “Smith Sr.” Ravens jersey as a peace offering.
