BOSTON — Johnny Boychuk is among the toughest defensemen in the NHL, and that was evident in the third period of Sunday’s Game 2 against the Detroit Red Wings when he laid out Justin Abdelkader with a gigantic body check.
As both players skated into the corner to retrieve the puck, the Boston Bruins D-man made a clean hit with his shoulder to launch the Red Wings forward into the boards.
It might be the best hit of the 2014 Stanley Cup playoffs so far.
